TEK Tuesdays: LEGO Cable Straps Leave a Comment / Uncategorized / By firstname.lastname@example.org A creative and easy way to turn LEGO bricks into cable straps! Parts you’ll need: • 2×4 LEGO Brick • Hair Tie (Or Rubber Band) • Paper Clip (Optional) • Hot Glue Gun (No Glue Required) STEP 1: Use the hot glue gun tip to melt a hole directly in the top middle of the LEGO brick. (Push until you reach the bottom of the brick) STEP 2: Flip the brick over and finish the hole by pushing through the opposite side. STEP 3: Wait for the plastic to completely cool before moving forward. STEP 4: Push the hair tie through the hole. STEP 5: Utilize the paper clip to help push and pull the hair tie through the hole. STEP 6: Make sure to not pull the hair tie all the way through. Stop halfway. STEP 7: Loop one end of the hair tie over the other end as shown below. STEP 8: Grasp the LEGO brick with one hand and pull the end of the hair tie tight. (Be careful! The brick can slip and snap your fingers.) STEP 9: Loop the hair tie around the cables and over the brick to secure the strap. Use the LEGO Cable Strap to secure hanging wires or wrapped wires. Use different colored LEGO bricks for organization or preference.
